RARE BAZAAR POSTAGE CINDERELLA STAMP FROM THE CIVIL WAR-- A VERY RARE SANITARY FAIR ITEM

The small beige stamp with red lettering is quite rare, as are most "Cinderella" or fantasy stamps that were printed at/for the many fund raising bazaars throughout the North during the Civil War. The most prolific among these are the 10-, 20- and 30-cent stamps from the Great Central Sanitary Fair. The red Bazaar stamp with the eagle (that rather looks a bit like a pigeon to me) is a rare and I have seen them on ebay for anywhere from $500 to $1,500; I hope (for the collector) that the exnmple for $1,500 only sold if the price was lowered dramatically.

I am not a stamp collector or a stamp dealer. The ONLY stamps I handle are from Sanitary fairs, the Confederacy and occasionally from various world's fairs. I find stamp catalogs almost useless; you can count on a reasonable price being as much as 50% lower that in the catalog/price guides.

I will include an example of the far more common (but still scarce!) stamps from
the Great Central Fair, which are larger and more the size of an actual postage stamp. This one is noticeably smaller. I have included photos of two as examples. You will receive ONE Great Central stamp with this purchase.

I have a very nice inventory of Great Central stamps, including EIGHT rare proofs.

WE WILL SEND THIS POSTPAID--AT NO COST TO YOU FOR SHIPPING.
