VERY SCARCE CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE BLOCK OF 5-CENT STAMPS

These stamps, and the ones that follow, are all part of a collection of Civil War items (many different stamps, documents and Union soldier passes). We are only now listing some of the Confederate stamps. I am not sure of the reason, but these 5-cent stamps are much scarcer than the ten-cent ones. In the roughly 15 Confederate blocks of stamps we acquired in that collection there were just this and one other block of nickel stamps; the remaining examples are 10-cent stamps.
