OUTSTANDING COLUMBIAN S102 NICKEL TICKET--ONE OF MULTIPLES IN THE SALE
Collectors who have been at this very long are well aware that S102 tickets are probably the most plentiful (I hate to use the word 'common' because they aren't). One great mystery about stand tickets is exactly which concession used which tickets. I strong suspect we'll never find out unless some historian, collector or extreme nerd comes along who somehow discovers the answer. I fit all three descriptions. Always a collector (and seller for "only" 40+ years), a historian (currently working on my 3rd WCE book) and I can't hide from the nerd label. I cannot even imagine the hours I have spent researching and writing about this world's fair. Being OCD about such things may not be the only reason to be called a nerd; after all, there are some techies who deserve the title, also, for their own crazy obsessions.
Serial number here is #276094, so you can keep track of multiple S102 tickets in this sale. As with all in the sale, and in general with those sold by The History Bank, you can count on the best prices around. In those myriad years working on all things WCE, I have also devoted an inordinate amount of time to logging selling prices on tickets. I began in earnest before my book on the Midway and when I decided to do a book about WCE tickets, I had built a pretty incredible database of ticket price information.
