HEART-WARMING STORY OF THE CIVIL WAR-- OLD ABE THE EAGLE, WHO WENT THROUGH 3 YEARS OF BATTLES

At the Chicago Sanitary Fair to support the Union troops, these cards were sold by the Wisconsin 8th Regiment. Old Abe marched to three years of battles with the regiment and was at the front of action most of those years. Wherever his regiment went, he went along as a symbol of patriotism and in support of the Union Army.

This is an original 1865 card from the Sanitary Fair in Chicago. The card is quite scarce. In 40+ years we have sold a grand total of three prior to this one.
