HOI AN SHALLOW POT/BOWL (UNLIDDED) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION,
The open pot to the right center of the first photo and at the far right on a stand in the second photo is the one for sale here.
The shallow bowl is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and due to the angle of the photos looks as large as the 6-inch bowl at the left back in the photos.
This pot has a row of dots around the outside near the top and an unusual design on the inside bottom. There is a small ridge around the top that would indicate that it probably had a lid when made 500± years ago. It may have been broken or even intact but dozens--hundreds--of feet away and never matched to the bottom during the salvage operation.
Can you picture what the sea bottom must've looked like when the wreck was discovered--with pots and bowls--of all sizes--and shards of broken pieces all strewn for a MILE from the sunken ship? This piece has the original government sticker on the bottom and it is painted with multiple colors whereas the majority of Hoi An pieces are painted only in blue.
Please note the various shipping charges on our items; you should find them to be substantially less than other items from different sellers. We always try to charge the lowest possible rate at which we can ship items. We utilize a mailing app (stamps.com) which provides users/subscribers about 20% lower prices than charged at the USPS. We will always combined shipping should you purchase multiple items. Sometimes it is actually less expensive to ship multiple pieces SEPARATELY. I just shipped about 20 Seattle World's Fair items to a customer--about half wre paper items and the other half glass. Using a large single box to accommodate the size of the paper items without folding AND then the glass items all in one box would have cost more than sending the paper media mail in a large envelope and the glass in a well padded box was cheaper than had we shipped all together. I have noticed some sellers who have shipped me parcels have paid crazy high prices. A larage box I received that a a wholesaler paid about $55 to ship me a large box--where I would've shipped the same box for half of that amount. Please see several other Hoi Am relics found on the South China Sea floor in our store right now.
