UNUSUAL PAN AM 1901 BUFFALO WORLD'S FAIR TICKET
I am always surprised when I find a world's fair ticket I have never seen before. At firsst one would likely think this is a ticket for a drawing, but instead it is an opportunity to win an all expense paid trip to Buffalo for the 1901 Pan Am Exposition.
I am not sure from reading the information on this ticket how competitors would o about collecting examples of this ticket. I'm assuming they were handed out when purchases were made at the Yankee Clothiers. Thus someone making the most purchases (with no consideration of the amount spent) might have the opp90rtunity to collect the most coupons.
This all seems a bit confusing and it would be helpful to understand just how someone went about the business of collecting coupons. The store sponsoring the contest was in Pennsylvania so travel to Buffalo by a customer would not have been very pricey. Still, a free train ride to Buffalo and lodging and other expenses would make for a very nice 1901 vacation.
As noted above, this is the first time I have run across this ticket. One would guess if you lived in the same Pennsylvania town (Corry) today you could find a few of these tickets among other souvenirs,
