World's Columbian Michigan State Building + List of State Commissioners, #142
I hesitate to label this aluminum medal as common, but it is found with some frequency. This piece is uncirculated with great detail but does have hairlines in the obverse field. It is always interesting to see how so many Columbian medals have such detailed designs; the reverse is quite typical, also, with just text. The reverse may be boring but it is much of the reason such medals were struck--to show off a building or concession, to list detailed information and as a keepsake for a variety of individuals.
