SALE: SCARCE 1895 COTTON STATES EXPOSITION ATLANTA OFFICIAL MEDAL #HB161
A very desirable medal from 1895 Atlanta. I think that many world's fair collectors don't think about the Cotton States Expos held in New Orleans and Atlanta. They weren't "world's fairs" but they certainly were important 19th century exposition. This official medal is HK268 and catalogued by HK as gilt bronze and 35mm, an an R4. In its way of offering a broad price range, the HK price guide puts an unirculated example at anywhere from at $25 to $150, an example of pretty crazy pricing. In my 43 years of dealing with world's fair medals, I'd say good luck finding a $25 BU example, and if you find one at $150--my advice is it's very much overpriced.
