Paris-Very Unusual Medal from the 1867 Paris World’s Fair #010
It seems the vast majority of Paris medals we find are white medal, with a large number of bronze, especially the smaller ones. Design and composition wise this is one that simply doesn't have the "look" of virtually all of the others from the second half of the 19th century. It is from 1867 and I thought one that stood out and that I never encountered before--so I acquired it specifically for this sale.
I do not know the origin of the medal (I wish I had the time to devote to EVERY world's fair that I've spent studying the WCE and C21 Expos) but it appears to be a storecard and advertising some type of American product. I couldn't pass it up!
