Large Print from an Original Painting Done @ Midway Plaisance--Signed on the Matte #ON965

This is one of a limited series of reproductions of paintings and photographs that were matted and sold at the World's Columbian Exposition. An original artist's signature is on the matte (lower left just below the bottom left corner of the painting). Apparently the painters signed the small number of reproductions to be sold during the fair. The original printed description of the artwork accompanies this print and has been placed (not glued) inside the shrinkwrapping at the top left. The matted picture measures about 16 in. x 20 in. In the 1990s, I purchased this print along with a group of other prints and photographs from the fair, all matted to the same size, several of which were signed by the artist in pencil on the matte. I purchased the group from a friend who owned an antique store in Seattle and knew of my interest in the Columbian Expo. He acquired them from an art dealer who apparently purchased them from the estate of a person who bought them at the Columbian Expo. I would think that a typical appraisal of the print signed by the author would be about $300. For this sale only I am offering this signed piece for only $99. I will offer this and others of the print later, likely at anywhere from $150 to $250 each depending on the print.
