COP 1933-NGC MS66: A Common Fair Medal in Uncommon Condition
This Michigan Century of Progress medal is not difficult to find at all. You can even find high grade—AU to Uncirculated—fairly easily. But like with most every souvenir medal the desirability increases as the availability decreases when the grade moves up the ladder. This pure red orange beautiful piece is slabbed by NGC as an MS66. I’m not being greedy but having examined an NGC MS67 either that one was overgraded or this one undergraded. They were both virtually identical in strike, appearance and color. Whether this one deserves an MS67 super grade or not, just judge it on its appearance. And how many times have we been told to buy the coin, not the holder. Forgetting the slab, this is as nice an example of this popular medal as you’ll ever find. And where can you find an 88-year-old numismatic item in MS66 with such a low price tag?
