I always look for several kinds of documents when I am researching the Civil War. This includes letters from soldiers (and others) war dated, letters recounting battle(s) and discussing the battles with Confederate soldiers; and Army documents that tell a great deal about the person enlisting.

You will see many different documents in this sale and the one thing they have in common is that they shine a light on real people who lived during the war; fought or stayed home, but all a part of that heroic and horrible four years of American history.
