#180-CIVIL WAR SALE: INTERESTING UNIFACE GAR MEDAL, LOUISVILLE 1895 ENCAMPMENT

Very nice GAR Encampment medal from what's noted as the 29th annual gathering of the GAR--which began the reunions just the year after the Civil War ended. The encampments continued well into the 20th century but as soldiers who took part in the war began to pass away, the annual gatherings became smaller and smaller until they faded into history.

This medal is on what looks like it could be the original 1895 chain.
