GEM BU "OUR ARMY" PATRIOTIC CIVIL WAR TOKEN RICH RED COLOR
Everyone has different likes when it comes to Civil War tokens or coins. There is no question that this is a true gem BU token, and while to my eye it has a lot of red, I am quite sure an NGC or PCGS would call it "red brown." I do know many collectors who simply prefer full red coins and tokens whenever possible. I actually find this coloring more attractive than full red. This is indeed a gem BU token and for those familiar with this "Indian Princess" design you will recognize the condition and quality strike.
Most tokens with this design, as with a few others, seem not to have a terribly fine die; this one is actually a very strong strike for the design; here is no "fading" out toward the denticles and rim as you see often.
The reverse has a bit of that where you can see the "A" in army just a tad soft as struck. If this were listed on ebay I could not offer ANY comment about the numeric grade; ebay will not allow a seller to offer a numeric grade unless it is on the slab of a third party grading service. I get that so ingrained that when I am not on ebay I forget to share my opinion numerically! I would expect, based on what I've seen over an awful lot of CWT's I would expect to see this graded MS64 RB. One can always be surprised and I would not at all be surprised to see it receive a 65.
Outstanding and very inexpensive CWT.
