Cal Pac -Lovely Medal from 1935 San Diego’s California Pacific Exposition #1282
Admittedly, the Cal Pac fair had the misfortune of happening when there were a lot of other fairs around and when there had been the 1915 PPIE and the 1939 GGIE was on the horizon.
Still, for the lack of items or enthusiasm for the San Diego exposition, you shouldn’t pass up a Mint State example of a very scarce medal. The color is terrific as is the condition. In my years of collecting and selling I admit I’ve never gotten terribly excited about this somewhat second tier fair and never have seen much at all from it; and this makes it more desirable in my opinion. Souvenirs and medals from the Cal Pac are minimal and this medal is scarce for what it is and much more so for its appeal and grade.
This very lovely gem mint BU gilt medal measures just a bit under 25mm.
