VERY RARE-Original AMT Insert in Model Kits in 1961-62 Announcing AMT's Booth at C21 #ON913

AMT, the huge company that builds cars (and more), just not big enough for human use, sells its millions of vehicles as model car kits. In 1962 AMT was one of the private busienss vendors/concessions at the Seattle World's Fair. At 10 year's old in '62 I loved the small AMT store. It was one of my favorite attractions (rivaling the arcades and amusement rides) at the fair as I was one of those kids who loved to build model cars--and I was the proverbial all thumbs.

AMT had the greatest giveaway at the fair (in my opinion as a kid), handing out custom made sheets of decals featuring the world's fair logo and the Space Needle that kids could put on their model cars; the giveaway also included a large logo decal for mom or dad's car window.

AMT announced their participation by including this flyer in model car kit sold in 1961 and 1962. It's a quite rare piece for the obvious reason that very few kids would have kept the flyer. More kids were likely to stow away decal sheets or unused car parats.

Of course I wouldn't sell this one if I didn't have a duplicate to keep as a reminder of the fair, that will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of its opening on April 21, 2022.
