I've been selling far more gold than ever before which was helped a tad by last year's consignment of 550 gold coins that sold for $1.2 Million--including not just bullion but St. Gaudens and Liberty double eagles--slabbed to MS65. I readily admit this is not a daily occurrence for me.

Gold closed at $2,658 per ounce....when this listed and sold. This coin has a net of .1867 oz. of pure gold. Thus it melted at $496.25 and we sold it at only $481.36, 3% below its gold content.

That sale was approximately a year ago....and gold today in August 2025 the gold content of the 20 franc coin would be $629.55 with the huge increase in the value of gold--closing at $3,372 on Friday, August 22, 2025.
