Two 13-Inch Long 19th Century Carved Japanese Cabinet Panels
These two panels came from an 1800s sideboard/cabinet hand-carved in Japan. They would make an outstanding display, perhaps framed together or separately to hang next to one another. The panels are incredibly solid; we have also included a photo of the back of the carved wood panels. The wood looks perhaps surprisingly more solid than one might expect. The carving is of the high quality seen on mid- to-late 19th century pieces. I do not what type of wood was used, but the reverse shows the natural color and grain. The carving may be somewhat "typical" of the period but in this case "typical" doesn't mean a boring average, but the usual very high-quality artisan workmanship. The price is for both panels. And I hate to add the caveat that the photos don't do the item justice.
