K2533-Peacock Company Centennial--3 Medals

$225.00

The Peacock Company of Chicago celebrated its centennial in 1937. Most Chicago collectors are familiar with the smaller 32mm medals. The small dark spot on all three medals is a scrap of metal from the great Chicago fire. I am not sure of the composition of the smaller medals--gilt and probably a white metal that looks like platinum. Both are gem BU. The larger medal was probably made in very small quantities as a presentation piece. It is 77mm in diameter and on a very thick planchet. The deign is identical on all three medal and includes an image of the Ferris Wheel at the fair. The price is for all three medals and the extra postage is to accommodate the weight. Note: The smaller medals are inventoried as K2295 and K2297
