Hanging Badge Columbian Entertainment Committee in New York

Bronze hanging medal with eagle header bar, uniface, obviously intended to be worn as it is (blank back) or to be engraved in the name of the committee member. The weeklong festivities in New York were a major event leading up to the Columbian Exposition. We have never seen this medal previously and it was probably struck in a small quantity of fifty or fewer. The committee to oversee entertainment in New York may have included a variety of events, not the least of which was the Naval Parade that featured a variety of ships, including naval vessels from numerous countries. Quite possibly the only surviving example of this medal. Postage charges include USPS insurance.
