3 Vintage Coin Books: 2 Century Old Catalogs with Great Prices! + 1961 Numismatist Lot #101
Included in this lot are two book-length price catalogs for US, world and ancient coins from legendary dealer Max Mehl. We've shown a couple pages of prices just to make you crazy: Would a trip back a hundred years or so for a bit of coin buying be OK? Literally, spending $5,000 then would mean you'd have a few hundred thousand dollars in coins today--if you purchased wisely. We have only copied one of the catalogs and neither the second one or the cover of the Numismatist (ANA's official journal still published today), but we did include a page of prices from it, as well. Not quite as inexpensive as circa 1920s but pretty darned cheap from 59 years ago. You won't have any trouble telling which publication the price lists are from--just a quick look at the prices will make it simple. This lot is THREE publications. They're mostly for interest/entertainment, although there is plenty of good information here beyond "just" incredible prices.
